Russian court pronounces verdict in case against two Azerbaijanis accused of kidnapping

The Alexandrov City Court of Russia’s Vladimir region has pronounced a verdict in the case against two Azerbaijanis accused of kidnapping and robbery.

Under the verdict, Azerbaijanis Togrul Dadashli, 27, and Shahid Guliyev, 21, were sentenced to 13 years and 10 years in prison, respectively, APA reported citing tv-mig.ru. They will serve their sentence in a maximum security prison. Moreover, the court ensured the payment of compensation for moral damage in the amount of 53,000 manats.

The court revealed that the two Azerbaijanis kidnapped a town resident who has an expensive foreign car. The kidnappers assumed that the owner of an expensive car has a lot of money. They followed the man and kidnapped him by his car. They took him to a passenger carriage in another settlement. Dadashli and Guliyev took away the man's mobile phone, bank card, money and the keys to the car. Then they took the victim to the house by his car and kept him there till morning. He received severe traumatic brain injury and suffered damage worth 45,000 manats.

During the investigation, the defendants pleaded guilty and compensated the victim moral damage.
