On July 5, Azerbaijani border guards in Jabrayil’s Baykhanli village prevented an attempt to violate the state border of Azerbaijan and bring a large amount of narcotic drugs from Iran into Azerbaijan, the press service of the State Border Service (SBS) told APA.
Despite having been warned by border guards, the trespasser did not surrender and tried to run back. As a result, border guards used guns as the last option to prevent him from crossing into the opposite side of the border. The trespasser was wounded and died shortly after despite the first aid provided to him.
During the inspection, a night vision device and 8.8kg narcotics were wound on him.
The trespasser is yet to be identified.
