Baku-APA. Five people have been killed and six others wounded Saturday afternoon in a suicide car bomb attack targeting a Mogadishu restaurant near a Somali national intelligence and security agency facility, APA reports quoting AFP.
Banaadir -- in which Mogadishu is located -- local government spokesman Abdifah Hallane told journalists in a news conference that five people had been killed and six injured in the suicide car bomb attack.
“I was inside the restaurant it was a lunch time many people including forces and civilians were there, I heard a huge loud of explosion,” Abdullah Ahmed Ali, 24, a local radio journalist and eyewitness told Anadolu Agency.
The Blue Sky restaurant, located near several strategic places, including a prison run by Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), is frequented by Somali forces, politicians and civil servants.
The Somalia-based al-Qaeda affiliate al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack.
