The 74th General Assembly and Congress of the International Council of Military Sports (CISM) took place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, ONA reports citing Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan was represented at the annual meeting of the Council, which has 137 member-countries, by a delegation led by Chief of the Central Sport Club of the Army (CSCA), Lieutenant Colonel Rashad Guliyev. The CSCA delegation took part in debates of the General Assembly and Congress held in the Asian country and shared its experience on some issues.
It should be pointed out that CISM is the third global sports organization, as well as one of the largest sports organizations, which holds competitions at the world, intercontinental and regional levels. The organization was established on February 18, 1948. The highest governing body of the organization is the General Assembly.
The purpose of the Council, which in a short period of time has expanded its activities, and was recognized by the International Olympic Committee, is to establish permanent relationships between the participating countries through sports and physical training.
