US Senate has adopted a law draft which characterizes 1915 events as “Armenian Genocide”, APA’s local bureau reports citing Turkish media.
The law draft, put for vote for the fourth time, has been adopted unanimously.
The law draft was previously adopted in the House of Representatives on a 405-11 vote, but it was cancelled by the Senate for three times. This time it has been approved.
New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez has noted on this issue on his “Twitter” account: “Our resolution to recognize and commemorate the Armenian Genocide just passed the United States Senate.”
