A top official from the US Department of State told reporters that the United States considers NATO to be the most successful alliance in history, and that Washington continues to play a leading role in the alliance, APA reports citing media.
USA Diplomat, “The US still believes that NATO remains the most successful alliance in history. The President and Foreign Minister have clearly demonstrated their support for the alliance for years. We continue to play the key leadership role in the Alliance ” used the phrase.
Stating that one of the main topics of this year's talks would be the distribution of responsibilities in contributions to the defense budget, the diplomat added that the summit's final declaration would be very positive.
The NATO summit will take place in London, the UK's capital, on December 3-4.
