The United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced on Tuesday it has postponed the plans of sending astronauts to the Moon's surface until at least 2025, APA reports citing Teletrader.

NASA administrator Bill Nelson spoke to reporters saying that "the Trump administration's target of 2024 human landing was not grounded in technical feasibility." The start of NASA's Artemis program was previously delayed until next year, pushing the missions to come past their initial schedule.

Elon Musk's SpaceX will cooperate with NASA in realizing the Artemis program as it was earlier awarded the $2.9 billion contract to build the Human Landing System program.
