Australia's state of New South Wales reported on Wednesday its first case of COVID-19 registered since March 31, APA reports citing Teletrader.

The authorities identified the affected person as a man in his fifties that apparently has not arrived from abroad recently and instructed all his close contacts to test and self-quarantine. The region's Chief Health Officer Kerry Chant added the news "give[s] us some cause for concern."

Earlier this month, Australia directed its citizens that have traveled to India in the previous 14 days not to return to their country amid fears of the further spread of the virus.
