India's Health and Family Welfare Ministry said at least 49,193 people tested positive for the COVID-19 in the country during the day on Sunday, 117-shy from setting a new record for the South Asian nation, APA reports citing Teletrader.
After the newly registered cases are added, India's total infection count reaches 1,435,453.
On the other hand, the country's coronavirus death toll increased to 32,771, with health authorities recording 708 additional virus-related fatalities during the day, while the number of recoveries from the disease rose to a total of 917,567.
