All mosques in Tajikistan will be closed temporarily in connection with COVID-19 spread, APA reports citing AKIpress.
The decision about temporary closure of the mosques was made at the special meeting of the Council of Ulemmas at the Islamic Center on March 4.
The Council of Ulemmas asked citizens to refrain from collective prayers in mosques, except for collective prayers for the deceased.
The decision was made according to the recommendation of the Ministry of Health and Social Security.
By the end of 2019, Tajikistan has officially registered 48 cathedral mosques, 326 Friday mosques and 3,507 mosques for 5 daily prayers.
