"On April 24, US President Joe Biden made baseless, unjust, and untrue statements about the tragic events that took place in our region a century ago. These expressions, which have no historical or legal basis, have saddened us as well as every individual of our nation,” Turkey’s President Erdogan said at a press conference after a cabinet meeting in Ankara, APA's local bureau reports.
Mr. Erdogan said he thinks Joe Biden made such a statement under the pressure of radical Armenian circles: “This situation will not eliminate the dissatisfaction between the two countries. As Turkey, we do not consider it humane to compare the tragedies of history, but if they hold such a race, we are sure that we will be open-minded. Because nowhere can you find mass graves belonging to Armenians, but there are many mass graves belonging to Turks. These shameful massacres are in the history of everyone who accuses us of genocide, especially America and Europe.”
