China has completed the launch of its Shenzhou-12 spaceship from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, which represents the nation's first manned space mission in five years, APA reports citing Teletrader.

The three-member crew will be propelled into orbit by a Long March-2F carrier rocket. It is set to fly to the Tianhe space station, which remains under construction.

Astronauts Nie Haisheng, Liu Boming and Tang Hongbo have lifted off from the Gobi Desert and are expected to participate in the construction of the new space station in order to achieve the country's goal of having it completed before 2023.
