No new coronavirus cases were registered in Tajikistan since the beginning of this year, Health Ministry's press secretary Emomali Mirzoev said, APA reports citing AKIPress.
This way the press secretary denied reports about COVID-19 oubtreak in Tajikistan spread across social media.
"The rise in pneumonia cases is explained with use of ice cream and ice water by people due to hot air temperature. This does not mean people are infected with COVID-19," the press secretary said.
"According to findings of analysis by specialists, most adults and children have pneumonia now. Most of them are those who had coronavirus infection last year and their lungs did not recover well. They need to follow medical prescriptions, avoid cold drinks and icre cream," the press secretary said.
At the beginning of this year, Tajikistan said it beat coronavirus. According to official information, 13,308 coronavirus cases were confirmed in the country. 90 of them died.
