Turkey should withdraw its troops from Afghanistan under the 2020 deal for the pullout of U.S. forces, a "Taliban" spokesman said on Thursday, APA reports citing Reuters.
“Turkey was part of the NATO forces for the past 20 years, so they should withdraw from Afghanistan on the basis of the agreement we signed with the United States on February 29, 2020,” Suhail Shaheen said.
"Turkey is a great Islamic country. Afghanistan has had historic relations with him. We hope to have good and close relations with them when a new Islamic government is established in the country in the future," he added.
