The large-scale operational-tactical exercises that will be held by the Azerbaijani Army have undoubtedly put in fear Armenia’s military and political leadership, the Press Service of the Ministry of Defense told APA.
It was noted that our army holds the exercises within the internationally recognized borders of our country and this can’t be referred to violation of requirements of international documents: "We declare once again that Azerbaijan has the right to hold exercises within its borders by involving any number of personnel and various fighting equipment.
We remind the Armenian side referring to the appeal of the UN General Secretary to comply with global ceasefire that firstly the official Yerevan must fulfill the requirements of the four resolutions of the UN Security Council regarding withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from the occupied Azerbaijani territories.
Note that the implementation of regular exercises by the Armenian armed forces on the occupied Azerbaijani territories, the concealing by Armenia of great amount of weapons and ammunitions, combat equipment and other combat resources by evading the control of the international institutions is just the blatant violation by the official Yerevan of norms and principles of international law, including the main requirements of the Vienna document.
We state that expression of such a reaction by Armenia to the exercises that will be held pursues the goal of distracting from itself as the occupant country the attention of the world community and the international institutions.
The Ministry of Defense declares that if the enemy attempts any provocation, the Azerbaijani Army will immediately and resolutely prevent such action of the Armenian side by applying force".
