Azerbaijan’s Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov on Wednesday watched a series of field exercises of various units.
The minister first watched tactical trainings of third-year cadets of the Azerbaijan High Military School named after Heydar Aliyev, APA reports.
In accordance with the training plan, the cadets acted as commanders of divisions and platoons in the created tactical situation.
Minister Hasanov then observed the practical firing conducted in a sniper training center and checked the readiness of motorized rifle, tank and artillery units.
Following the exercises, Hasanov met with journalists.
The minister noted that the Azerbaijani Army is fully ready and able to fulfill any command thanks to comprehensive reforms conducted in recent years under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
Hasanov also answered numerous questions about the work done in military units, implemented reforms, achievements and forthcoming tasks.
