The US has so far allocated $30 million for demining operations in Azerbaijan, said US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta.
The ambassador made the remarks at the event titled “Presentation of JCP Phase III, The Future of ANAMA-NATO/NSPA PfP Trust Fund projects in Azerbaijan” which was held in Baku on Tuesday, APA reported.
He noted that the US has been supporting the Jayranchel project since its beginning.
The US ambassador also reiterated his country’s support for the third phase of the project.
“We see how unexploded ordnances affect innocent people. So far, the US has allocated $30 million for demining operations in Azerbaijan. More than 40 square kilometers of polluted territory was cleared together with donor countries. ANAMA’s contributions go beyond the country,” he added.
