Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov and other officials of the Ministry have attended the Open Doors Day and the military oath-taking ceremony held with participation of parents of soldiers and representative of society in one of the military units of Azerbaijan Army on the occasion of the State Flag Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Defence told APA.
The leadership of the Ministry of Defense laid flowers to the monument of national leader Heydar Aliyev erected in the territory of the military unit and paid tribute to the memory of the Great Leader. The memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev and the Martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of the Motherland was honored with observing a minute of silence.
Then the National Anthem was performed.
Military oath-taking ceremony has been held for young soldiers. Young soldiers then swore their oaths.
The decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On the establishment of the State Flag Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan” was once again brought to the attention of the personnel.
Delivering a speech, the Minister of Defense brought to the attention the tasks assigned by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief to the army and emphasized that due to the attention, care and direct leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani army is developing at a rapid pace, there are high achievements in improving the country's military power .
The Minister noted that the Azerbaijani army is equipped with modern weapons and military equipment, new military units and residential complexes are being built and commissioned. All this allows us to maintain a high level of combat readiness of the types of troops, military units and units, including combat and moral-psychological training of the personnel of the Azerbaijani army, to strengthen the social protection of military personnel, to increase the faith of our people in our army and the speedy liberation of occupied lands, as well as motivation of the younger generation to do military service.
“Each Azerbaijani soldier should constantly improve combat training, be disciplined, be able to use the weapons and military equipment he has at his disposal, and should be ready to show courage and selflessness in the fights against the invaders. The strength of the Azerbaijani army is in patriotism, determination to fight and enthusiasm, as well as in the high discipline and professionalism of the personnel,” the Minister of Defense said.
Congratulating the personnel on State Flag Day, the Minister wished success.
Meeting with the parents of the soldiers, Colonel General Z. Hasanov answered their questions related to military service, gave instructions to the relevant officials on solving a number of problems.
Then within the framework of Open doors day, the minister has reviewed the exhibition “Historical flags of Azerbaijan” together with event participants, organized in the military unit. The event participants have been informed about the national state flags of Azerbaijan that existed in different periods of history.
The event continued with a concert program with the participation of the song and dance ensemble of the Army ideological and cultural center named after Hazi Aslanov.
At the end of the event, the leadership of the Ministry of Defense had lunch with the personnel.
