68% of Georgia’s electricity import last year fall to share of Azerbaijan

In 2019, Georgia increased electricity imports by 7.5%, and reduced electricity exports by 58.7%, APA’s local bureau reports citing the report of Georgia’s Electric System Commercial Operator (ESCO).

It is noted that during the last year, Georgia imported a total of 1623 million kW-hours of electricity. And in 2018, this indicator equaled to 1508.82 million kW-hours.

In the reporting period, 68% of Georgia’s electricity imports fell to the share of Azerbaijan, and 32% - to the share of Russia.
