BP: “Preparation for exploration drilling is underway in Shafag-Asiman block”

“BP Company is preparing for drilling of the first exploration well- SAX01 in perspective Shafag-Asiman block, located in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea”, BP’s Vice President for Relations, Foreign Affairs, and Strategy in the region of Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli told APA-Economics.

Firstly BP has taken over "Heydar Aliyev" Semi Submersible Drilling Rig in order to drill the first exploration well in the Shafag-Asiman block.

“Preparation works are conducted in the area in order to start drilling works this year. Drilling process will be started after completing preparation works”, said Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli.
