Ministry of Energy: Gas sale abroad increased by 22% last year

77,6 bln. cubic metres of gas was transferred for export from commissioning of Shah Deniz field until January 1, 2020, APA-Economics reports citing Ministry of Energy.

During 2019, total gas sale abroad was 11,7 bln. cubic metres which is 2,1 bln. cubic metres (21%) more in comparison to the export indicator of 2018 (9,6 bln. cubic metres).

According to the information as of January 1, general works on the first gas production on Shah Deniz 2 project have been implemented by 100%, 94% of the work to be done in full scale, works on South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion by 100%, (South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion project was commissioned on May 29, 2018), 100% of work on the construction of TANAP gas pipeline (the official opening ceremony of TANAP was held in Turkey on June 12, 2018), and 90.7 % of work on the construction of TAP gas pipeline has been implemented. Transport of commercial gas production to Turkey has been started since June 30, 2018, within the framework of Shah Deniz 2 project.
