Gas will start flowing along the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) into Italy before the end of this year in line with targets, Luca Schieppati, the TAP the managing director, said on Tuesday, APA-Economics reports.

“At the end of the year the gas will flow and we can finally open the southern corridor,” Luca Schieppati said at the Italian Energy Summit 2020. He also added that he doesn't see the immediate risk for the gas transportation related to the current volatility at the Armenia-Azerbaijan front line.

The 878km TAP pipeline is a cornerstone of the European Union’s energy security policy to wean the bloc off Russian gas.
