The 4th meeting of energy ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization was hosted by Azerbaijan. High-level representatives of member countries of the organization-Iran, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan have participated in a video conference, Ministry of Energy told APA-Economics.
Chair of the meeting, Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov spoke about the role of the organization as a format of cooperation that promotes multifaceted mutually beneficial relations in Eurasia.
At the final of the meeting in order to strengthen energy cooperation within the framework of the Economic Cooperation Organization Baku declaration has been adopted. The document envisages extensive cooperation between ECO members on the supply of crude oil, natural gas, petrochemicals, and petroleum products, the establishment of power grids, regional electricity trade, clean energy sources in line with global steps in the fight against climate change, energy efficiency, financing the transition to clean energy.
