The Southern Gas Corridor will ensure long-term, successful and sustainable development of Azerbaijan, Director General of the Southern Gas Corridor Afghan Isayev said.
According to him, the SGC has been supported by EBRD, Asian infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), IBRD. The SGC spent $8.4 billion (73%) of $11.5 billion required for the project (including Shahdeniz 1 and South Caucasus Pipeline). Of this, $2.3 billion has been invested since early 2017. Within the project, the works to be done on Shahdeniz 2 has been fulfilled by 98.5%, on transportation of first gas on South Caucasus Pipeline – by 99.2%, TANAP construction – by 87.4% and TAP construction – by 60.8%.
