Azerbaijan gets growth in oil production, decline in gas production

In January-February 2018, total production in mining sector amounted to AZN 5.7 billion, up 1.8% from previous year.

According to State Statistical Committee, crude oil production made up 6.4 million tonnes, marketable gas – 2.9 billion cubic meters.

In the reporting period, the oil production increased by 0.5%, gas production declined by 9.4%.

In the reporting period, 6,372,900 tonnes of crude oil were produced in the country, up 0.5% in comparison to a year earlier. Of this, 6,364,900 tonnes were marketable oil, up 0.8% compared to 2016. As of March 1, 2018, finished products made up 462,900 tonnes.

In the reporting period, 4,726,900,000 cubic meters of natural gas were produced in the country, up 0.8% from 2016. Of this, 2,908,900,000 cubic meters made up marketable gas, down 9.4% by contrast to a year earlier.
