Head of Azerigaz PR Department Ibrahim Karbalayev told APA-Economics that staring January 1, 2017, price of gas consumption over 1,500 m³ in a year will make up AZN 0.20 for 1 m³: “Generally, there is not any problem in here. Up to 1,500 m³ will be calculated as previous price. In excess of 1,500 m³, it will be calculated as AZN 0.20”.

If a subscriber consumer 1,500 m³ of gas in a year they will pay AZN 0.10 as previous. However, if the subscriber consumes 2,000 m³ of gas in a year, they will pay AZN 0.10 for 1,500 m³, AZN 0.20 for 500 m³.

Karbalayev added that the gas system will adjusted to the new tariffs: “We have base of each subscriber. There is information about their consumption and payments. The subscribers may get information from Azerigaz, service area where they live and the department of sale. There is not any problem in here. There are indicators on the mechanical gas meters. On the smart gas meters, the subscribers may see indicators through electronic board”.

Note that changes gas tariffs made energy tariffs to be reconsidered and energy tariff in wholesale made up 5.7 kopecks for 1 kWh. the population consuming up to 250 kWh in a month will pay AZN 0.07 for 1 kWh, over 250 kWh in a month, they will pay AZN 0.11.

As can be seen, the population will have to pay more if they consume more energy.

Experts say differentiation of prices of public utilities will increase the expenditures of those who have big private houses and engage in production.
