SOCAR’s Turkey-based asset Petkim Holding will build the second refinery in the territory where Petkim is located, Director General of Petkim Holding Anar Mammadov told Anadolu agency.
According to him, the new project needs $2 billion: ‘Construction of new refinery will be conducted within 5 years’.
‘Annual capacity will be 3.6 million tonnes of product, which makes up 20% of Turkey’s consumption’.
Turkey’s need for polypropylene is 2 million tonnes a year: ‘Petkim meets only 7% or 144,000 tonnes of this demand. However, the holding meets 60% of demand for polyethylene. ’
