President: Process of industrialization is taking place at a very high pace in Azerbaijan

During the discussions held during yesterday’s meeting, we once again saw that Italy and Azerbaijan are very close friendly and partner countries, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at the Azerbaijani-Italian business forum July 19 in the Heydar Aliyev Center together with Italian President Sergio Mattarella.

‘Your visit to Azerbaijan proves our strategic partnership links. Several issues were discussed yesterday. We want Italy-Azerbaijan links to continue to develop successfully. The President’s visit strongly supports these links. Of course, when the political relations are at high level, business circles notice it and take steps. Obvious example for this is launch of polypropylene plant. I told Mr. President Sergio Mattarella yesterday that this is modern technological work of Italian Italy in Azerbaijan. This plant shows us cooperation between the companies. We want this cooperation to extend, deepen the future. There are many plans about industry and economic development in Azerbaijan. The process of industrialization is taking place at a very high pace in Azerbaijan. Of course, we need very good, reliable, experienced partners. Italian companies are among such partners. That’s because they have long been connected with Azerbaijan, they have very good reputation and the highest technological capabilities. Therefore, I think the economic cooperation should be in different directions. We invite Italian companies to Azerbaijan. I think Italian companies will actively participate in the future projects on industrial development of Azerbaijan. We’d like Italian companies to make more investments in Azerbaijan. There are good opportunities for this. Nearly $250 billion foreign and domestic investments have been made in Azerbaijan. The investment climate in Azerbaijan is very good, and foreign investments are protected at a high level within the law’, he said.

Azerbaijani President noted that Italian companies operate as contractor: ‘Such type of cooperation is observed in infrastructure, heavy industry, agriculture, and processing sectors. However, we should increase this level’.
