SOCAR and Azerbaijan has a potential of big gas storehouses. To use this potential, gas purchased from foreign countries, including Russia, spokesperson for SOCAR Ibrahim Ahmadov told APA-Economics.
According to him, these storehouses allow to purchase gas in different volume: ‘These gas volumes will be used for necessity and need later’.
SOCAR official noted that this gas might be exported to abroad, processed and used in the domestic market.
SOCAR and Gazprom reached an agreement to resume gas supply to Azerbaijan starting November 22.
The agreement was signed on November 21.
According to the agreement, SOCAR will import 1.6 billion cubic meters of gas from Russia.
