Consultation Board set up in State Committee for Religious Communities

The Consultation Board is to analyze the stateâ€™s religion policy and issues of carrying out religious freedom policy preparing corresponding recommends. The newly established board is composed of the first Deputy Caucasian Muslims Office Salman Musayev, Baku and Caspian Bishop Alexander Ishein, Semyon Ikhiilov, chair of the religious community of Mountain Jews, deputy chairman of Caucasian Muslims Office, Baku Islam Universityâ€™s rector Haji Sabir Hasanli, Gennadi Zelmanovich, head of the Ashkenazi Jewish community and Roman-Catholic Church coordinator for Azerbaijan Yan Chapla.
The first session of the Consultation Board was held today. The meeting adopted the statute of the Board. According to the statute, the newly established body will be chaired by the SCWRC chief, and the sessions will be held once in three months. The session ratified the 2007 working plan and debated current issues. /APA/
