6,000 Azerbaijani pilgrims are expected to pilgrimage this year, head of the Caucasian Muslims Office Sheikulislam Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh who returned from Saudi Arabia yesterday told the APA.
He stated a quota for 8, 000 is likely to be alloted, as population of Azerbaijan is more than 8 millions. He reminded though 4,500 places have been allotted for Azerbaijan last year, only 4,300 performed Hajj visit. If the number of the pilgrimages increases, they have an opportunity to increase quotas.
Pashazadeh said they achieved agreement with the air-company in Saudi Arabia for flying from Baku to Medina in an airplane and he also publicized they paid 25-30% of payments. The pilgrims will be able to go to Medina straightly and return to Baku will not confront with any problem.
Sheikulislam stressing that favorable condition will be created for pilgrims this year, stated that he had never had such pilgrimage in his life yet. /APA/
