Turkish Embassy advisor refutes reports on pulling down Martyrs’ mosque

“The reports on pulling down the mosque situated in the Martyrs’ Alley are not true,†advisor on religious affairs of Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan Muzeffer Shahin told the APA.
He said that the embassy’s office on religious affairs is also situated in the mosque, and added that they also heard the reports on pulling down the mosque and erecting a monument to martyrs.
“We worried about this and I asked Sheikhulislam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade about it. Sheikh assured me that it is not true,†he said.
Imam of Martyrs’ Mosque told the APA that he is unaware of it and commenting on this is not in his competence.
