Sheikh-ul-Islam Allah-Shukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board and Secretary-General of Baku International Center of Interfaith and Inter-civilizations Center has addressed a letter to U.S. President Donald Trump, APA reports.

The letter reads: "On behalf of the believers of the Caucasus and Azerbaijan, as the head of the Baku Center for International Religious and Intercivilizational Cooperation, which includes members of various religions, prominent Jewish, Christian, Muslim religious leaders, as well as religious leaders of the United States, I greet you and all the American people.

It is the grace of the Almighty Creator that, despite the crises, confrontations, and conflicts, there are eternal values that do not allow our world to fall out of the abyss. Among them is the peaceful coexistence of people of different nationalities and faiths, the culture of mutual understanding. It is no coincidence that our holy books, the Torah, the Bible and the Quran, call on all of us to be merciful and compassionate for the sake of humanity, regardless of our beliefs.

At a time when our world is being tested by hardships and struggling with a new type of coronavirus, human solidarity and the ideals of humanism are more important than ever. Thankfully, the fight against coronavirus in Azerbaijan is being carried out seriously and successfully, and at the same time, great attention is paid to international humanitarian assistance and the provision of necessary assistance to foreign countries. However today, during the global viral catastrophe, the people of Iran, who are our neighbors, have been deprived of the most necessary medical, food, and material assistance, and the elderly and children have been left to die in the face of a relentless disease. The appeals we receive about the suffering of the neighboring Iranian people, who are on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe, make it necessary to make emergency decisions in such an emergency period. We ask you to make a decision on the suspension of sanctions against the Iranian people, a moratorium on all bans and restrictions during the pandemic, and the liberation of the Iranian people from isolation and crisis for the sake of humanism and human solidarity. Such a decision would be a step in accordance with all worldly and spiritual laws, and a rewarding deed pleasing to our Almighty Lord.

Your Excellency! The world is our common home, and the life of this house depends on the right decisions made by politicians. I hope that during the holy holidays of the world's believers, Easter and Easter, as well as on the eve of the holy month of Ramadan, you will respond positively to our personal generosity, and by your supreme decision you will sign a great human catastrophe. These are the hopes of all believers and their prayers for human peace!"
