Azerbaijani president congratulates Pope Francis

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has congratulated Pope Francis, ONA reports citing AzerTAG.

The congratulatory letter says:

"On my own behalf and on behalf of the Azerbaijani people, I cordially congratulate you and in your person all of your fellow believers on the occasion of the anniversary of the coronation. Relations between Azerbaijan and the Holy See are also a good example of promoting dialogue and tolerance between religions and cultures. I hope our steps on the basis of cooperation will continue to serve the establishment of peace and tranquility, mutual understanding and solidarity in the world. On this day, I wish you good health and success in your noble sacred mission."
