Salome Zourabichvili, President of Georgia has visited Tbilisi Juma Mosque on the occasion of Ramadan holiday, APA’s local bureau reports.
The president has congratulated Muslims on the occasion of Ramadan holiday and conveyed her wishes to them.
Salome Zourabichvili said that everyone living in Georgia has to do their best in order to maintain the existing religious tolerance:” Islam is a religion of peace and tranquility. Currently, there is a tolerance to all the religions in Georgia. Unfortunately, the situation is different in several countries of the world at the present moment. Therefore we have to stand firm together and show everyone what we can do."
The Mufti of the Georgian Muslims Office, Haji Yasin Aliyev has thanked Georgian President for visiting the mosque and congratulating Muslims.
Note that Ramadan holiday is celebrated in Georgia today.
