Azerbaijani, Armenian religious leaders to meet in Moscow - <span style="color: red;">UPDATED

Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO), Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II will hold a meeting in Moscow in September.

The sides will mainly discuss the settlement process of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, APA has learned.

A delegation led by CMO chairman will leave for Moscow on September 7.

The religious leaders will discuss how to prevent the conflict from turning into a religious confrontation and possible steps to avoid the escalation of tensions. They will also mull how to contribute to the resolution of the conflict.

The CMO press service confirmed to APA the information about the meeting.

The religious leaders held meetings in this format previously as well.

The meeting will be organized through the mediation of Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill.
