Georgia. Nizami Mammadzade – APA. Tassoua, the day before holy Ashura – 10th of Muharram, was marked on Oct. 11 in the Georgian town of Marneuli, densely populated by Azerbaijanis.

Religious figures and locals, chanting various religious slogans, marched from the building of “Ahl al-Bayt” Culture and Education Society to the Imam Ali Mosque in the town.

Then they gathered in front of the Imam Ali Mosque. Akhund of the mosque Haji Hajiyev gave detailed information about the virtues of Imam Huseyn and the Day of Tassoua.

Speaking to APA, Bishop Malkhaz Songulashvili of the Evangelical Baptist Church of Georgia said that the Day of Tassoua refers to struggle for justice, peace and love.

Songulashvili added that he performed Friday pray together with Muslims in the Imam Ali mosque.
