Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO) Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade has commented on the demolition of a mosque in Baku's Sovetsky locality.
It should be noted that Haji Abdulrahimbey Gulubeyov mosque has already been demolished in Sovetsky and Haji Javad mosque is expected to be demolished, too.
Pashazade noted that none of these mosques are registered by the CMO.
“I don’t even know where those two mosques are situated. If we’re talking about demolishing mosques on the whole, of course, I stand against it. However, we all know that when doing something good for people, for example, when constructing a highway, this can be done through negotiations. I’ve stated my opinion in this regard to the concerned bodies,” he added.
