Baku. Malahat Najafova – APA All religious freedoms have been ensured in Azerbaijan, Pope Francis said during the meeting with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev in Baku Oct.2.
“Now we are here, in your ancient lands. I know that all religious freedoms have been ensured in your country,” said Pope Francis.
Recalling the Azerbaijani president’s recent visit to the Vatican, the Pope thanked Ilham Aliyev for his visit.
Pope Francis also expressed gratitude for the warm welcome in Azerbaijan.
Currently, moral and cultural wealth is of great importance particularly in European countries, he said.
"Currently, this is an important factor for people. Thereby, we can talk about the fruitfulness of our relations,” said Pope Francis.
