Buta Airways launches Baku-Batumi direct flight - PHOTO

Thee low-cost airline Buta Airways has launched direct flight to Georgia’s popular resort Batumi starting from today, APA reports.

An opening ceremony is held at the airport on this occasion.

Batumi will be the second direction of the company in Georgia. Thus, regular flights from Baku to Tbilisi are already operated by this company.

The minimum fare for Baku-Batumi flight like for other destinations of the Airline will cost 29 euros (one way). Flights will be carried out twice a week – on Fridays and Sundays.

Ambassador of Georgia to Azerbaijan Zurab Pataradze, vice-president of Azal Eldar Hajiyev and other persons have attended the opening ceremony. Both of them noted that this flight will be successful for Azerbaijan and Georgian people. It has been noted that economic, political and other spheres between the two countries are developing and the opening of this flight will be important in terms of mutual visits and the mutual understanding between the two nations in the tourism sector.

Ceremony attendees also noted that one of the main issues in the opening of the flight is its regularity in four seasons.
Today the first flight has been carried out. The participants of the ceremony have expressed confidence that the flight will be successful.
