More than 627,000 tourists visit Azerbaijan this year

In three months of 2018, 627,835 tourists travelled to Azerbaijan, up 12.6% or 70,207 people from same period of 2017, APA reports quoting Ministry of Culture and Tourism reported.

Of these tourists, 171,814 people came from Russia, 138,909 people from Georgia, 99,158 people from Iran, 72,733 people from Turkey, 29,317 people from UAE, 11,847 from Ukraine and 11,112 people from Iraq.

In comparison to a year earlier, number of tourists from Georgia increased by 12.7%, from Russia – by 6.97%, from Turkey – by 12.7%, from UAE – by 31%, and from Kuwait – by 614%.

Most of tourists came from CIS and Georgia (342,457 people), Gulf countries and Near East (166,976 people) and EU countries (93,122 people).
