A videoconference of Presidium of the Azerbaijan Basketball Federation has been held, Apasport.az website reports.
The fate of Azerbaijan championship among male basketball players suspended due to coronavirus pandemic was discussed at the meeting.
It was decided not to continue the Super League suspended after XX match day held on February 29. Prior to the break, the "Zirve Astara" team occupying the first place with 38 points was announced the champion of the country. The "Atom" team having 34 points occupied the 2nd place, while “Ganja” team scoring 32 points occupied the 3rd place.
Note that the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) took a decision to suspend all international competitions beginning from March 13, 2020. At the same time, the local championships in a number of European countries (Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania, etc.) were suspended and the winners were announced.
