Russia 24 TV channel presents reportage on F1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix

The Russia 24 TV channel has prepared reportage on the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Baku.

ONA’s Moscow correspondent reports that the three-minute reportage by journalist Boris Maksutov includes an interview with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

In the interview, President Ilham Aliyev said that about half a billion people watch Formula 1.

“Of course, Baku is also in the list of the cities hosting Formula 1. This is very important. After the first race, development of tourism in Azerbaijan was 22 percent and 20 percent after the second one. So, it brings a great income to the country, to the city. Azerbaijan is estimated to have already earned $300 million from these races,” President Ilham Aliyev said in the interview.

The reportage says that the Formula races in Baku are special.

The reportage talks about the tourism destinations in Baku, in particular the Heydar Aliyev Center, Icherisheher and the central streets. It was noted that tens of thousands of tourists arrive in the country for Formula 1.
