Azerbaijani parliament is to introduce some amendments to conscription law in autumn session, Siyavush Novruzov, member of security and defense commission stated.
The latest December amendments to the law caused discontent of citizens. The appeals come to the commission members concerning the issue.
“The commission members will make proposals using their rights to put forth lawmaking initiative,” Novruzov said.
“Some issues need reviewing. The issues concerning conscription of those taking care of second group disabled as well as post-graduate students are to be revived. There used to be fraud cases in documenting second group disabled. The Ministry of Labor and Social Security of Population is taking regular actions to eliminate such frauds.
After amendments were made to the law, relations of real disabled ones are drafted leaving the disabled helpless. Post-graduate students or students studying abroad are drafted just after graduation, which causes the loss of professionalism. Proposals are being made regarding such appeals,” the commission member underlined. /APA/
