Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan agree on full ceasefire on the border

Heads of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan’s State Committees for National Security Kamchybek Tashiyev and Saymumin Yatimov reached an agreement on a full ceasefire on the border between the two states, Kyrgyzstan’s AKI-press reported citing Tashiyev.

"Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan agreed on a full ceasefire and the pullout of forces," Tashiyev said after talks in the Batkensky region in Kyrgyzstan.

"People of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have very difficult time now, crisis. The tragedy occured in two countries. It was very hard for us to meet and work in this time. Yet, as intructed by the heads of our states we held a meeting and reached agreement on full cease of fire, withdrawal of troops from the border to their duty stations," Tashiev said.
