Russia’s COVID-19 cases rise by 4,969 in the past day

Russia’s coronavirus cases rose by 4,969 in the past day to 922,853, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Sunday, APA reports citing TASS.

The number of COVID-19 cases was fewer than 5,000 for the second time this week.

According to the data, the daily growth rate dropped to 0.5% for the first time.

Some 688 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Moscow, 163 in St. Petersburg, 154 in the Moscow Region, 150 in the Sverdlovsk Region and 129 in the Stavropol Region and the Rostov Region.

The lowest growth rate was recorded in the Nenets Autonomous Region (0.0%), the Moscow Region (0.2%), North Ossetia (0.2%), Moscow (0.3%), the Tyva Republic (0.3%), the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (0.3%), the Bryansk Region (0.3%), the Tula Region (0.3%), the Trans-Baikal Region (0.3%), the Chechen Republic (0.3%) and the Lipetsk Region (0.3%).

Currently, some 174,200 people are undergoing treatment for the coronavirus in Russia.
