The United Nations General Assembly adopted Russia's resolution to combat the glorification of Nazism, APA reports citing RIA Novosti.
The document is called "Combating the glorification of National Socialism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to the escalation of modern forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance ”.
133 states voted in favor of the resolution, two against, 52 abstained. The resolution was not supported by the United States and Ukraine.
The General Assembly recommends states "to take appropriate concrete measures, including legislative and educational ones, in accordance with international human rights obligations, in order to prevent revisionism in respect of the Second World War and the denial of the crimes against humanity and war crimes committed during the Second World War."
