Ukrainian President appoints new ambassador of Ukraine to France

President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed Vadym Omelchenko to the post of Ambassador of Ukraine to the French Republic, APA reports citing Ukrinform.

The relevant decree was published on the website of the head of state on June 11.

“To appoint Vadym Omelchenko as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the French Republic,” the document says.

By another decree, the president dismissed Oleh Shamshur as Ukraine's Ambassador to France and Permanent Representative of Ukraine to UNESCO.

Shamshur was appointed as ambassador to France in 2014.
