Georgia has opened its land border with Azerbaijan today, APA's regional bureau reports.

According to the decision of the Interdepartmental Coordination Council headed by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on May 25, the country's land borders will be opened from June 1.

According to the new rules, from today, foreign citizens will be able to enter Georgia by land by submitting a document showing the negative results of the PCR analysis obtained in the last 72 hours and a certificate of complete vaccination against the new coronavirus.

Non-vaccinated foreign nationals will have to undergo PCR test within 72 hours of entering Georgia. Tourists who test negative will be allowed to move freely in the country.

Georgian citizens wishing to enter Azerbaijan, the previous regime will remain in force until Azerbaijan opens its borders with Georgia.

The land border between Georgia and Azerbaijan was closed in March last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
