Lavrov: “Russian, Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders dealing with solution of Karabakh issue”

“Russian, Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders are personally dealing with the solution of the Karabakh issue”, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov while replying to the questions of students of MGIMO, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.

He noted that Moscow played a decisive role in a ceasefire in November of the previous year. According to S. Lavrov, there is November 9 agreement reached by the Russian, Azerbaijani, and Armenian leaders about the ceasefire and development of cooperation and January 11 agreement specifying the leaders' proposals to open all economic and transport ties in the region: “This is not the work of one day, leaders of 3 countries are personally dealing with this. As well as, our servicemen who make up the peacekeeping contingent in Karabakh deal with this. They work to reduce tensions and build confidence”.

Lavrov noted that Russian borders help to Armenia in solving problems with their Azerbaijani neighbours.
